Here is a little bit about myself and the my knife making method. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about my knives or with an idea for a unique custom knife of your own.

My Business Philosophy

The objective of my business is to provide high quality custom knives and reliable service to my customers. I hope you will enjoy visiting this web site and viewing some of the different model knives that I make and some of the currently available knives for sale.

Short Bio.

My name is Mark Laramie and I'm married with eight (yes!) children. I began making knives in 2000. I sold my first knife in the fall of that same year. My interest in making knives began with a trip to the local library to pick up some books with one of my daughters for a school report. I ended up leaving with two books on knife making.

I started by buying a couple knife blades and began fashioning handles and guards for them. Then I tried a couple more... and more. I then bought a couple folding kit knives. I checked out how they were assembled and drew up a couple of my own designs. I began cutting and finishing my own liners, bolsters and back straps. Then the hard part - I began cutting and grinding my own blades. I've be working on perfecting my technique ever since. With each knife I complete I learn something new to make the next knife even better.

I've sold my knives to customers in several different countries and have had a great deal of positive and wonderful comments. I've also had some encouraging constructive criticism. Thank You and God Bless!

My Method.

I make each of my custom knives by hand from the best materials available. I flat grind each of my blades and hand sand them. They are then professionally heat treated. Each thumb stud is cut, ground, and finished by hand. Liners, back-straps, and bolsters are also cut, ground, and finished by hand. I generally use torx screws for assembly but I will occasionally use pins for a traditional look.

Folding L/L, back-lock, and slip-joint knives are my specialty. I will also make fixed blade knives for a customer upon request.
